PRESS RELEASE

Teletone Records proudly announces the release of:

"Trying to Make a  Living Playing My Guitar"

The new CD from Chicago Blues Artist

Sam Cockrell

2014 Blues Hall of Fame inductee Sam Cockrell returns with his third and strongest CD, “Trying to Make a Living Playing My Guitar” on Teletone Records. The recording features eleven original songs….ranging from straight ahead Chicago style shuffles, to soulful contemporary ballads, to funkified dance tunes, and everything in between……all flavored with Sam’s blues sensibility and soulful vocals.

A long time favorite on the Chicago blues scene, Sam electrifies audiences with his dynamic singing and bass guitar virtuosity. He tours the US, Canada, and Europe regularly, and has built a loyal fan following around the world. His approach to the blues is influenced by the genre’s masters, but also by such diverse artists as Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, Steely Dan, Chicago, Jimi Hendrix, and Earth Wind and Fire. All of these influences can be heard on the new CD, which features a stellar lineup of musicians from Chicago and the east coast.

The CD is available cdbaby.com, Amazon.com, and iTunes.
